A SCIWEBS web site is rated in the following way:

For each criterium,  a numerical score is assigned to "Good", "Fair", or "Poor".  This table is an example for Load Time.

There are 15 rated criteria used in SCIWEBS (the three "Appropriate for K-3 ...etc are omitted because they are specific to a group of individuals).  Therefore a site that receives a perfect score would receive 45 points, while another site that recieved 2 "Fairs" and 13 "Goods" would have a total of 39 points. 

The points for a web site are then converted to a percentage score, which is then converted to a Earth Score using the following percentage intervals.
