To receive a "Good" ranking for Appropriate Title, the web site must accurately describe the site.

The title of a web site should be a reasonable and short description of what the site is all about.  Because thousands of web sites are on the WWW, an appropriate yet snappy  title is probably the best way to ensure that a site will be opened and used.

Generally web site titles are short.  However, search engines, such as Lycos or Yahoo, can present long titles, so there is no reason why a title can not be longer than a normal book or article title, e.g. be 8-15 words; the viewer will have the benefit of enough information to make a decision whether to actually visit the site.
