Intended Audience: K-12, University, Teachers E-mail: duedall@fit.edu To receive a rating of "Good" for Organization of Information a site must be clearly organized into the topics and subtopics addressed by the site. If more than one subject is presented, separate sections or even pages presenting individual topics is best. The index page (sometimes called the default page) that opens first and links to several pages should have a brief description (sometimes written on a button) of each subsequent page, to help the user avoid wasting time downloading inappropriate information. A web page that is not organized and is hard to understand is of no use to a teacher or researcher that must sort through dozens of sites for relevant information. A confused jumble of links and information also takes away from the confidence a viewer has in a site. If care is not taken to construct a site, the information it contains may be questionable as well.
